Remembering Kobe
NBA legend Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter and seven others were killed Sunday in an unfortunate helicopter crash. News of the sudden death of everyone on board has left the world shocked. As people continue to mourn, we would like to take the time to remember Kobe and Gianna Bryant as well as the other seven people involved.
Kobe Bryant was one of the greatest basketball players of his generation. During his 20-year NBA career as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, Bryant won five championships, was league MVP in 2008, and was one of the game’s all-time highest scorers. After his retirement, Bryant spent time investing in entrepreneurs through a venture capital firm founded by himself and partner, Jeff Stibel. Bryant was also a known advocate for the growth of women's basketball. After retiring, Bryant immediately began coaching Gianna's middle school basketball team. Bryant was outspoken with his support of the WNBA and created several programs to increase female involvement in the game.
Bryant often spoke about how his daughter, Gianna would be carrying on his basketball legacy. Although Gianna and Kobe are no longer with us, the legacy will continue to live on. As will the legacies of the Altobelli, Chester, Mauser and Zobayan families.
